This month, the Tri-County EMC Foundation Board approved 9 applications, totaling $14,490.75 in Operation Roundup funds, to benefit organizations or individuals in local communities. The organizations that received funds this quarter are:
 
·         Baldwin County 4-H Club $1,000 in scholarships for 4th-6th grade students to attend summer camp
 
·         Baldwin County Parks and Recreation Department $1,000 to fund the purchase of arts, crafts and other recreational supplies for summer campers
 
·         Boys and Girls Club Jones County $1,000 towards recreational supplies for summer programming
 
·         The Give Center (GC&SU)$3,300 for with costs associated with freight and bagging of potatoes for the annual Potato Drop
 
·         Gray United Methodist Church $5,000 towards the River of Life program, in which church youth will be making home repairs and renovations for needy families in Jones County
 
·         JACOR Foundation, Inc. $1,000 to purchase back to school supplies for students in Jones County
 
·         Mustard Seed Ministry$1,370 to construct two wheelchair ramps for two disabled individuals in Baldwin County
 
·         Serenity Hospice Care $820.75 to purchase a lift chair for a disabled individual in Baldwin County
 
Operation Roundup is funded by the voluntary contributions of Tri-County EMC Members to the Tri-County EMC Foundation. Participants in the program have their monthly bill rounded up to the next dollar and the difference is donated to Operation Roundup. Any non-profit, civic, religious or government organization located within Tri-County’s eight-county service area is eligible to receive funding. Applications must be for special needs or projects. No applications for contributions to an organization’s general funds will be accepted. Applications may be downloaded here or mailed upon request by calling 478.986.8126.
