Tri-County EMC Foundation Grants $11,913.50 in March 2013

 
In March 2013, the Tri-County EMC Foundation Board approved 12 grant projects, totaling $11,913.50  in Operation Roundup funds, to benefit organizations or individuals in local communities. 26 organizations applied with projects totaling more than $52,000. The organizations that received funds this quarter are:

 

·         Christ Community Church of Gray - $500 to purchase food for a food bank in Jones County.

·         Eatonton First United Methodist Church - $3,456 to assist in covering travel expenses for an individual going through cancer treatments in Eatonton, GA.

·         Gray United Methodist Church - $1,200 to purchase materials for church youth to repair homes in Jones County.

·         Mustard Seed Ministries: Baldwin County - $806 to purchase materials for organization volunteers to build three wheelchair ramps for individuals in need in Baldwin County

·         Mustard Seed Ministry: Jones County - $2,353 to purchase materials for organization volunteers to build a wheelchair ramp and repair two roofs on the homes of  individuals in need in Jones County.

·         The Changing Stations Ministry - $3,598.50 to purchase materials for organization volunteers to repair the roofs of three homes for individuals in need in Jones County.

 

Operation Roundup is funded by the voluntary contributions of Tri-County EMC Members to the Tri-County EMC Foundation. Participants in the program have their monthly bill rounded up to the next dollar and the difference is donated to Operation Roundup. Any non-profit, civic, religious or government organization located within Tri-County’s eight-county service area is eligible to receive funding. Applications must be for special needs or projects. No applications for contributions to an organization’s general funds will be accepted. Applications may be downloaded from Tri-County EMC’s website or mailed upon request by calling 478.986.8126.
