Operation Roundup Funds Awarded in September

In September, the Tri-County EMC Foundation Board approved 10 applications, totaling $20,117.09 in Operation Roundup funds, to benefit organizations or individuals in local communities. The organizations that received funds this quarter are:
· Central GA Christian Food Bank – $5,000 to fund the purchase of food for a food bank
· Fostering Jones County Kids – $3,000 to fund Christmas gifts and other needs for 12 foster children
· Christ Community Church of Gray – $1,000 to fund the purchase of food for a food bank
· Gray Rattler Men’s Club – $1,500 toward the purchase of food and supplies for Thanksgiving meal for the elderly
· Homework Helpers/Discipleship Christian Center – $217.09 to purchase headphones for computers in tutoring lab
· JACOR Foundation, Inc. – $4,000to purchase coats for 100 children and Thanksgiving baskets for 80 community families
· Jasper Co. Sheriff’s Office– $500 to purchase educational materials through the National Child Safety Council
· Jones County 4-H – $3,700toward registration fees and school resource supplies for 4-H students
· Putnam Christian Outreach – $8,300to purchase ear molds and hearing aids for two young children
· Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department – $400to pay the tuition for four individuals to receive CPR Instructor Certification
Operation Roundup is funded by the voluntary contributions of Tri-County EMC Members to the Tri-County EMC Foundation. Participants in the program have their monthly bill rounded up to the next dollar and the difference is donated to Operation Roundup. Any non-profit, civic, religious or government organization located within Tri-County’s eight-county service area is eligible to receive funding. Applications must be for special needs or projects. No applications for contributions to an organization’s general funds will be accepted. Applications may be downloaded from Tri-County EMC’s Web site or mailed upon request by calling 478.986.8126.
