Tri-County EMC Foundation Grants $11,638 in March

In March 2012, the Tri-County EMC Foundation Board approved 8 applications, totaling $11,638.00 in Operation Roundup funds, to benefit organizations or individuals in local communities. The organizations that received funds this quarter are:
· Baldwin County 4-H - $1000 towards the fees to send 4-H students to summer camp
· Camp Kudzu - $1,400 to send two Morgan County children to a diabetes education program
· Christ Community Church of Gray- $1,000 to purchase food for a food bank
· Gray United Methodist Church - $5,000 to repair 20-25 homes in Jones County through a church youth program
· Jasper County Family Connection - $1,000 to purchase books for 43 children in Jasper County
· 4-H SAFE Shotgun Competition Team - $400 towards student entry fees for 4-H state competition
· Jones County Public Library- $838.00 to purchase books for a summer reading program
· Putnam County 4-H - $1,000 towards student registration fees for district event
Operation Roundup is funded by the voluntary contributions of Tri-County EMC Members to the Tri-County EMC Foundation. Participants in the program have their monthly bill rounded up to the next dollar and the difference is donated to Operation Roundup. Any non-profit, civic, religious or government organization located within Tri-County’s eight-county service area is eligible to receive funding. Applications must be for special needs or projects. No applications for contributions to an organization’s general funds will be accepted. Applications may be downloaded from Tri-County EMC’s Web site or mailed upon request by calling 478.986.8126.
