Tri-County EMC Announces Results of 2024 Nominating Committee Meeting

Each year, the nine-member Tri-County EMC Nominating Committee presents a slate of candidates for election to the cooperative’s board of directors. These nominees are voted on by the membership during the annual election in the fall. The 2024 Nominating Committee met on June 17 to nominate candidates for the three Post 2 board seats up for this year’s election. All Post 2 incumbents (Chap Nelson, George Comer, and Edward Walker) were nominated and will appear on the ballots sent out in September.

As stated in Tri-County EMC’s bylaws, a member can also be added to the ballot using “nomination by petition.” To fulfill this step, the member must submit a petition of at least 50 signatures to the cooperative no later than July 19, 2024. (Bylaws, Section 4.06. Nominations.) The C&E Committee will meet in August to review and validate any petitions submitted to the cooperative. Members can contact Tri-County EMC to obtain a petition form.
