Tri-County EMC Foundation Awards $40,000 in Second Quarter

On June 9, the Tri-County EMC Foundation Board of Directors met to discuss applications for Operation Roundup Grants. 16 organizations were awarded for a total of $40,550 to fund a variety of community needs and projects. The Operation Roundup program is made possible through the generosity of our members who elect to have their bills rounded up each month. The next round of grant applications will be due September 1.

Winning Recipients:

ACTION IN KINDESS
$1,000 to purchase diapers for Middle Georgia families in need

EARLY LEARNING CENTER
$1,000 to purchase clothing and shoes for students in need

EATONTON SERVICE LEAGUE
$1,000 to purchase diapers and wipes to distribute to Eatonton families in need

FOSTER CARE CLOSET AT FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH
$2,500 to purchase personal care items for children aged newborn to 17 years who are being placed in foster care

HARDWICK BAPTIST CHURCH
$2,400 to purchase food for the church pantry box

MIDDLE GEORGIA COMMUNITY FOOD BANK
$5,000 to purchase food to assist local agencies with children’s backpack programs, senior brown bag initiatives, soup kitchens, and other feeding programs throughout the service area

OCONEE RECOVERY COALITION
$2,000 to provide personal care kits to Baldwin County individuals and families recovering from and affected by addiction

PRAYER BOOK MINISTRY
$1,700 to purchase food for the local pantry

STONE CREEK BAPTIST CHURCH
$1,000 to continue the home essentials community pantry

TEAM SHUT IN MINISTRY
$750 to purchase food for transport to homes of individuals dealing with health issues

ST. PAUL A.M.E.
$500 to purchase materials to construct a handicap ramp on the home of three medically fragile adults

JONES COUNTY FAMILY CONNECTION
$2,000 to purchase bookbags and supply kits for the annual Back-to-School Bash in Jones County

REACH 2 TEACH
$1,500 to provide school supplies for students living in Putnam County housing authority and affordable housing

UNION BAPTIST CHURCH
$2,000 to purchase school supplies and hygiene items for local students

UNITY OF BELIEVERS IN CHRIST MINISTRY
$1,200 to purchase school supplies for local students

NEIGHBORS HELPING NEIGHBORS
$7,100 for repairs to the home of a single mother living in Putnam County

$7,900 for repairs to the home of an elderly Putnam County man currently being treated for throat cancer
