Tri-County EMC Foundation Grants $41,500 in September

In September 2022, the Tri-County EMC Foundation Board approved grants for 8 projects, totaling $41,517.51 in Operation Roundup funds, to benefit organizations or individuals in local communities. All projects are funded by the Tri-County EMC Foundation - an organization made possible by contributions from Tri-County EMC members rounding their bill to the next dollar.

BALDWIN COUNTY JAIL DOG PROGRAM: $4,000 to provide veterinary and food costs for dogs enrolled in the Jail Dog Program - a development program that allows inmates to train dogs to be placed for adoption.

BALDWIN COUNTY EARLY LEARNING CENTER: $1,000 to purchase coats for students in need at Baldwin County Early Learning Center.

BRAVE MEADOWS THERAPEUTIC RIDING CENTER: $3,000 to fund therapeutic horseback riding lessons for individuals with disabilities in the Tri-County EMC service area.

GEORGIA COLLEGE & STATE UNIVERSITY: $1,108 to purchase books to be used to expand the Little Libraries program across Baldwin County.

GEORGIA TRANSPLANT FOUNDATION: $6,000 to provide support programming to organ transplant patients in the Tri-County EMC Service Area.

GREATER JORDAN CHAPEL AME CHURCH: $5,000 to support programming for the Christian Debutante Master Commission leadership program.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF MILLEDGEVILLE & BALDWIN COUNTY: $2,309.51 to purchase materials for wheelchair ramps constructed for two individuals in need in Baldwin County.

JONES COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY: $2,000 to go towards the purchase updated non-fiction books and creating an outdoor space at the library.

LAKE COUNTRY BAPTIST BROTHERHOOD: $1,100 to purchase materials used to construct a wheelchair ramp for an individual in need in Putnam County.

MAKE A WISH FOUNDATION OF GEORGIA: $6,000 to grant eight pending wishes for children with critical illnesses within the Tri-County EMC Service Area.

NEIGHBORS HELPING NEIGHBORS: $5,000 to purchase materials to replace the roof for an individual with health issues in Putnam County.

RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE: $5,000 to cover nights of stay for individuals from the TriCounty EMC service area who have a child staying at the Children’s Hospital in Macon. 

Operation Roundup is funded by voluntary contributions from Tri-County members to the Tri-County EMC Foundation. Participants have their monthly bill rounded up to the next dollar, with that surplus amount going to fund Operation Roundup. Any charitable or government institution, civic organization or other non-profit group located within Tri-County’s eight county service area are eligible to receive funding. The next deadline is December 1, 2022.
