Tri-County EMC Foundation Grants $50,000 in December

On December 12, the Tri-County EMC Foundation Board of Directors met to discuss applications for Operation Roundup Grants. The sixteen organizations listed below were awarded for a total of $50,818.92 to fund a variety of community needs and projects. The Operation Roundup program is made possible through the generosity of our members who elect to have their bills rounded up each month. The next round of grant applications will be due March 1. CIRCLE OF LOVE CENTER
$7,500 to support outreach services
for domestic violence survivors
EARLY LEARNING CENTER
$1,000 to purchase winter coats for
children unable to afford them
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF PUTNAM COUNTY
$5,000 to purchase electrical
materials for Habitat Home #28
JONES CO FAMILY CONNECTION
$3,000 to provide underprivileged
teens with hygiene items like deodorant, toothpaste, and shampoo
MATTIE WELLS ELEMENTARY
$1,000 to purchase clothes and shoes for a student clothing closet
SOLES FOR SOULS
$1,500 to purchase shoes for
underserved local youth
VELMA MCFADDEN WMS
$4,300 to purchase food for the
pantry and repair the handicapped ramp
ATRIUM HEALTH NAVICENT
BREAST CARE CENTER
$7,500 to provide mammograms to
uninsured women who cannot afford
medical care
LAKE COUNTRY BAPTIST
CHURCH BROTHERHOOD
$2,000 to purchase construction
materials for a handicapped ramp
LOCKERLY ARBORETUM
$1,817.92 to purchase medical
equipment for the safety of public
visitors and students

seniors in the program planning to

MIDDLE GEORGIA STATE UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION
$2,500 to create a comprehensive
training program for university
students volunteering for the
financial literacy initiative
WILKINSON CO 4-H CLUB
$2,500 to go toward 4-H events in
Wilkinson County Schools as they
rebuild the program
OCMULGEE CASA, INC.
$5,000 to purchase Christmas gifts
for local foster children
