Tri-County EMC Foundation Grants $7,595.00 in June

For Immediate Release:  Tri-County EMC Foundation Grants $7,595.00 in June 2012

In June 2012, the Tri-County EMC Foundation Board approved 8 applications, totaling $7,595.00 in Operation Roundup funds, to benefit organizations or individuals in local communities. The organizations that received funds this quarter are: 

·         Boy Scout Troop 119 (Gray United Methodist Church) - $570.00 to purchase a tent and first aid kit

·         Eatonton Fire Department - $370.00 for a fire safety program presented to Putnam County Schools

·         JACOR Foundation- $500.00 to purchase school supplies for students in Jones County

·         Liberty Chapel - $3,000.00 to purchase a wheelchair for a disabled individual in Putnam County

·         Mustard Seed Ministry - $800.00 to purchase wheelchair ramp materials for an individual with ALS in Baldwin County

·         Mustard Seed Ministry - $770.00 to purchase wheelchair ramp materials for an elderly, disabled individual in Baldwin County

·         Mustard Seed Ministry- $585.00 to purchase wheelchair ramp materials for an individual with lung problems in Jones County

·         Ronald McDonald House of Central GA- $1,000.00 to provide free night stays for families within the Tri-County Service area that have a child in the hospital

 

Operation Roundup is funded by the voluntary contributions of Tri-County EMC Members to the Tri-County EMC Foundation. Participants in the program have their monthly bill rounded up to the next dollar and the difference is donated to Operation Roundup. Any non-profit, civic, religious or government organization located within Tri-County’s eight-county service area is eligible to receive funding. Applications must be for special needs or projects. No applications for contributions to an organization’s general funds will be accepted. Applications may be downloaded from Tri-County EMC’s Web site or mailed upon request by calling 478.986.8126.
