Tri-County EMC Fountation Grants $11,407.77 in Operation Roundup Funds

In December 2015, the Tri-County EMC Foundation Board approved 6 grant projects, totaling $11,407.77 in Operation Roundup funds, to benefit organizations or individuals in local communities. The organizations that received funds this quarter are:
- Action Ministries: $2,000 to contribute to the transitional housing costs for three homeless families in Jones County.
- Lockerly Arboretum: $1,000 to purchase greenhouse plants used for horticultural education programs.
- New Damascus Baptist Church: $3,361 to help a family in Jones County replace necessary items after a house fire.
- Northridge Christian Ramp Ministry: $696.77 to purchase materials to construct a wheelchair ramp for a disables individual in Baldwin County.
- Putnam Community Resources: $2,000 to purchase food for a food bank in Putnam County.
- St. Paul AME Church: $2,350 to purchase materials to repair the roof of a home of an individual with epilepsy in Jones County.
Operation Roundup is funded by the voluntary contributions to Tri-County EMC members to the Tri-County EMC Foundation. Participants in the program have their monthly bill rounded up to the next dollar, with that surplus amount going to fund Operation Roundup. Any non-profit, civic, religious or government organization located within Tri-County’s eight county service area are eligible to receive funding. Applications must be for special needs or projects. No applications for contributions to an organization’s general funds will be accepted. Applications may be downloaded from tri-countyemc.com or mailed upon request by calling 478.986.8126.
