On October 22, Tri-County EMC hosted its 87th Annual Meeting at Tri-County EMC’s office in Gray. This concluded the 2026 Board of Directors’ Election. Voting online or by paper ballot, over 1,200 Tri-County EMC members participated in their cooperative’s election process. Board Chair Brenda P. Green opened her address by recognizing longtime Tri-County EMC member Ella Mae Glover, who recently celebrated her 88th birthday and faithfully attends the cooperative’s Annual Meeting each year. Reflecting on Tri-County EMC’s beginnings in 1939, Green acknowledged the hard work and dedication of those who built the cooperative’s electrical system, laying the foundation for the reliable service members enjoy today. She expressed gratitude for the trust members place in the cooperative’s nine-member elected Board of Directors and highlighted Tri-County EMC’s clean audit opinion. Green reaffirmed the cooperative’s commitment to providing safe, reliable electricity at an affordable cost, emphasizing that serving members remains its top priority.
Tri-CoGo General Manager Greg Mullis highlighted another year of growth and progress for Tri-County EMC’s fiber internet subsidiary. To support its expanding customer base, Tri-CoGo has added in-house personnel and invested in advanced technology and employee training. Mullis also discussed the introduction of five new value-based internet plans, including two multi-gigabit options designed to meet customers’ growing needs. Looking ahead, he announced plans to implement Smart Town, a community wi-fi initiative that could provide lifesaving connectivity for first responders. Mullis concluded by sharing positive results from Tri-CoGo’s latest customer satisfaction survey, including an impressive Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 92. (34750001)
Tri-County EMC CEO Ray Grinberg emphasized the cooperative’s locally owned, community-focused mission and encouraged members to participate in Operation Roundup to help strengthen the communities they call home. He expressed appreciation for Tri-County EMC’s dedicated employees, whose efforts contribute to the cooperative’s 99.6% reliability rate. Looking toward the future, Grinberg addressed growing energy demands, noting that Tri-County EMC would only consider serving data centers or any other large load if doing so benefits the membership and protects existing members from associated costs. He also discussed Oglethorpe Power Corporation’s investments in additional power generation, including new combined-cycle units in Smarr, Georgia, expected to begin operation in 2029.
