Two Students Earn Scholarships from Tri-County EMC Foundation

In addition to awarding grants each quarter, the Tri-County EMC Foundation also awards scholarships to two deserving students in the service area twice per year. The scholarships are worth $1,000 and are awarded based on academics, financial need and service to others. Special consideration is given to non-traditional students who are working full or part-time and have returned to school. The next deadline for applications is October 15. Leslie Bennett
Leslie is a senior at Jones County High School and will attend Shorter University this fall. She was an active member of the marching band, leading the band as drum major her senior year. She is a member of Northridge Christian Church and has participated in Georgia State Bible Drill and Samaritan’s Purse Ministries.
She plans to major in Christian Studies.
Terry Adrian Adkins-Chatfield
Terry is a rising sophomore at Fort Valley State University. He strives to be an active member of his community by volunteering at Habitat for Humanity, Loaves and Fishes, Jones County Senior Center and Ronald McDonald House. He also teaches STEM lessons to elementary school students twice a week. Ultimately, Terry would like to be a conservation scientist
