Tri-County EMC Foundation Grants $19,819 in March

In March 2020, the Tri-County EMC Foundation Board approved grants for 12 projects, totaling $19,819 in Operation Roundup funds, to benefit organizations or individuals in local communities. 

Brave Meadows Therapeutic Riding Center: $1,050 to provide therapeutic riding lessons for those with special needs.

Carter Hutchins Moore VFW Auxiliary Post 686: $500 to purchase bingo game prizes for Veterans.

Centennial Baptist Church: $1,524 to purchase the materials to construct a wheelchair ramp for an individual in need in Putnam County. 

Christian Church in Georgia: $2,000 funds to purchase recreational supplies for a Christian summer camp in Wilkinson County. 

City of Gray Fire Department: $3,400 to be used to add 1st and 2nd grade students to the department's child education program.

Committed Christian Outdoors: $2,400 to boats to be used for outdoor fishing retreats for teens.

Griggs Chapel AME Church: $3,000 to repair the bathroom of an individual in need in Putnam County. 

Jones County Family Connection: $1,710 to be used to purchase mesh book bags to be given to students in need at the Jones County Back to School Carnival. 

Lockerly Arboretum: $1,289.88 to be used to create a native reptiles and amphibians exhibit.

Milledgeville First United Methodist Church: $1,695 to purchase materials to build two wheelchair ramps during the church's River of Life Mission Project. 

The Cancer Foundation: $750 to go towards the living expenses of an individual with cancer in Putnam County. 

The Georgia Parenting Project: $500 to install a wheelchair ramp for an individual with a heart condition in Putnam County. 

Operation Roundup is funded by voluntary contributions from Tri-County members to the Tri-County EMC Foundation. Participants have their monthly bill rounded up to the next dollar, with that surplus amount going to fund Operation Roundup. Any charitable or government institution, civic organization or other non-profit group located within Tri-County’s eight county service area are eligible to receive funding. Applications must be for special needs or projects. Applications can be found on our website at tri-countyemc.com/operation-round-up.cms or mailed upon request by calling 478.986.8126. The next deadline is June 1, 2020.
