Tri-County EMC Foundation Grants $21,797.18 in June

In June 2018, the Tri-County EMC Foundation Board approved grants for 10 projects, totaling $21,797.18 in Operation Roundup funds, to benefit organizations or individuals in local communities. The organizations that received funds this quarter are:

Gray United Methodist Church: $3,500 to purchase materials for home repair projects to be used during the River of Life Summer Mission Program.
 
Habitat for Humanity of Putnam County: $2,135 to purchase materials to construct a roof for a Habitat home in Putnam County.
 
Helping Hands Society: $1,000 to purchase food for food baskets to be delivered to families in need in Baldwin County. 

Jones County Boy Scout Troop 485: $650 to purchase materials to construct a speaking platform and benches for Lockerly Aboretum in Baldwin County as part of an Eagle Scout project. 

Jones County Public Library: $750 to purchase books to be used in the summer reading program. 

Make-A-Wish Georgia: $2,500 to fulfill wish experiences for ill children in the Tri-County EMC Service Area. 

New Damascus Baptist Church: $572.18 to purchase materials to construct a wheelchair ramp for an individual in Jones County. 
 
Northridge Christian Ramp Ministry:$690 to purchase materials to construct a wheelchair ramp for an individual with a spinal cord injury in Baldwin County. 

Putnam Community Resources: $2,500 to purchase food for a food bank in Putnam County. 

Ronald McDonald House of Central Georgia:$5,000 to provide 333 nights of stay for individuals from the Tri-County EMC service area that have a child in the hospital. 

Operation Roundup is funded by voluntary contributions from Tri-County members to the Tri-County EMC Foundation. Participants in the program have their monthly bill rounded up to the next dollar, with that surplus amount going to fund Operation Roundup. Any non-profit, civic, religious or government organization located within Tri-County’s eight county service area are eligible to receive funding. Applications must be for special needs or projects.
